Pretty feet Pretty please ?

There are people that think their feet are beautiful, some that think their feet are unattractive and others that feel they are just Ok. I wonder if a lot of males fall into the first category? There are some men in my life like this. One balmy night, one gentleman, so sure of his perfect feet, proudly removed his shoes hoping to awe us with their beauty. I still remember the smug and superior expression on his face as he prepared to "sweep us off our feet". We giggled at his less than perfect feet. Don't feel pity for him, he is still happily living in denial. I also have a female family member in this category, I love her too much to say much, just let me say one thing.... monkey toes. But, in the second group, there are so many ladies that shouldn't be there. After spending many hours helping lots of lovely, ladies trying on shoes, you would be surprised how many think they have unusually, unattractive feet. You don't. You should "put your foot down" and be out and proud. And, if you still doubt it, heel balm and a pedicure does wonders to make you feel better. Even better, the lovely ladies at "Beautiful You Hair and Beauty" in Margate can do wonders. Visit their website for more information at http://www.beautifulu.com.au/. They were just telling me about their gel toe nails and their shellac polish. I think I am going to treat myself to the mini pedi and shellac polish.

Boots, Baby !

Seriously!! What is the story with this weather? I had already emotionally
moved on from my boots and was drooling about all the delicious, strappy
sandals I was planning to adopt. My boots are back with a vengeance. That should be the title of a movie "BOOTS BACK WITH A VENGEANCE!", I would watch it. Well, I would watch it in winter, certainly not a summer blockbuster. I would even be in it, if they asked nicely. People have been going crazy in the shop buying up winter boots, lucky we have winter stock 50%. Last week, crazy summer buying - this week, crazy winter buying. Can't pick it. What next week? Maybe snow boots or flippers? Or these? We don't actually have these in the shop, so please don't rush down all excited, you'll look a little silly.

Giddy - Up ! The Breaking of an Innocent Shoe.

Breaking in a pair of shoes. What a terrible term!! Makes you think of
horses being broken or, your poor, little heels being tortured by new
shoes. I have tried too many times over the years to "break shoes in" and it always ends in my tears. Does vanity make me choose a smaller size than I should have? Am I like Cinderella's step-sister trying to shove her ugly, man foot in the glass slipper? Probably. Now, I usually buy my shoes half a size larger and I haven't had heel blisters in years. Sure, I might not fit the glass slipper but at least I can dance all night. These are my version of glass slippers. I could dance all night in these gorgeous Vers Couture slippers.

Spring in my Step.

Spring is the best season. Even the word "Spring" gives a mental image
of bright colours, beautiful flowers, gentle breezes, mild scents and subtle
sunshine. As soon as spring hits, I am a huge, walking, adjective. I can't
wait to skip to the beach in colourful thongs (on my feet), eat ice-cream in bright espadrilles and sip, minty, cocktails in strappy stilettos. I am so over the (mild) chilly weather of Scarborough. I know we are completely spoilt weather wise, but seriously, this one was cold. We don't do cold very well here. But, we are excellent at sunshine. September 1, here we come.

If you decide to hit the local beach, drop by and say hello to us at "Shoes on Scarborough" before you get your fish and chips or icecreams.

Little Miss Shoe Lover

I think I am raising a little troop of shoe lovers to take over where I finish off.  I am unable to get annoyed when one little miss is trying on her fifth pair of sandals in Myers and needs them all and the other is frantically trying to find just one pair that "doesn't look daggy".   I completely understand.  I really hope that one of them matches my size 39 foot when they are bigger.  I think some other mothers might disagree.  But, I know they'll want to borrow (steal) my shoes but when I activate the cost-pair-wear rule,  I think I'll be ahead.  They get to wear my old shoes and I get to buy new ones.  Win-win.

Speaking of new shoes. While working hard, unpacking shoes, trying on shoes, dancing around the shop, photographing shoes, photographing my feet in shoes and photographing my feet dancing in shoes.  I decided I really needed these.  Very practical choice.

Feet don't have fat days.

This is another reason I love shoes. It doesn't matter if my hair looks greasy, my face is spotty or none of my clothes are working, my shoes will fit. There was a brief period of time when I was pregnant that they turned against me, but they came back and haven't turned on me since. Not only did they re-build the trust they destroyed, they have increased it. I think they should be rewarded. I was thinking of these delightful, little babies, They are screaming "Spring is coming, get a pedicure". Summer stock has started arriving in the Scarborough store and we are enthusiastically opening the boxed and giggling gleefully.

We have also started marking down all the stock on the website, We'll be busy next week making more mark downs and adding stock. http://www.shoesonscarborough.com.au/

Butt Lift ??!!

Flipping through a magazine, a came across this article in a magazine. I am completely convinced to invest in 7 pairs of ridiculously, high heels today. Seriously, what a huge (no pun intended) difference it makes. And, if I ever decide to buy a yellow, patterned, bunchy, bra-displaying jumpsuit - I will never, ever pair it with flats.
