Croc attack !!!

Crocs really are the most unattractive shoe. The original style was the worst but there are some others that come pretty close, like the high heeled one. I must admit that I bought a few pairs of the ballet flats because I liked the bright colours but I was always aware that they were for really casual days. All this is leading to this top I saw. It made me laugh, so true. When I wiped my eyes after laughing, I happened to see an ad for new crocs. I thought, why not have another laugh, until I saw these............ I want these, I guess the joke is on me.

Cost-per-wear Rule.

We are sure you have your own version of this great rule. I can pretty much convince myself that I can buy any shoe if it falls within the boundaries of the cost-per-wear (CPW) rule. Here is a simple version of CPW - I buy beautiful stilettos for $200 but only wear them once, then the cost per wear is $200. But, if I took those stilettos and wore them once a week (even for five minutes) for a year, the CPW is only a measly $3.846 (or $1.923 each). Then, if I continue wearing them for another 2 years - they are almost free. What a bargain!! See, there is a great reason that I wear slightly inappropriate shoes and will continue to do so. This is a pair that I am struggling to achieve CPW. Be prepared to see me stumbling though the school sometime soon. Xxx

No Shoe Left Behind

I have made a deal with myself and I can only buy shoes for next season. This has been more difficult than I anticipated. We have a sale on winter shoes in store (www.shoesonscarborough.com.au) and there are a few boots that I have been admiring for a while. I wonder if I am breaking my silent deal if I focus on next winter? Probably. In the meantime, I have promised some special shoes that I'll give them a few outings. I always feel sorry for the ones left forgotten in the back of the cupboard. I always say "No shoe left behind". So, these lovely, little babies came out with me today. Luz da lua, shoe boots. They skipped upstairs, strutted along sidewalks, ran through the school and sat patiently under my desk. What good little shoes they are!

Gumboots are not just for rainy days !

I have the most amazing gumboots but if I wait for a rainy day I may never

get to wear them. These are from Thomas Cook, aren't they fantastic?
They are way too cool to go to waste, so I have decided to wear them to
the Redcliffe markets today. The markets are very dusty so at least I can
hose them off when I get home. When Shoes on Scarborough got these
boots in they nearly sold out in 4 hours. I can't wait to see what Thomas
Cook does next year. I am sure everyone needs 1/2 dozen pairs of
colourful, rubber, cowboy boots.

Welcome to our Blog

I am just an average suburban mum that loves shoes. I am lucky

enough to work  in a beautiful shoe shop with amazing shoes and
wonderful people. This not only helps me buy beautiful shoes but,
even more importantly, gives me an excuse to wear them. I often
tell myself, "Yes Betty, you really do need these, people need to see
them on, then they'll sell even better". I am such a selfless person,
always thinking of others.

I also think we need to wear our great shoes everyday. Don't just save them for Friday night. We are mums (or dads), we need to grab the opportunity whenever we can. School runs? Hmm, I think I need to wear my Zola heels, Tuckshop? My Mina Martini Red shoe boots would be perfect, need to pick up some milk? Only my Vers boots will do.

Anyway, I had better go, it's Saturday afternoon and I have to run out and get some groceries. Since I have to take the children it'll be a bit of a struggle. I think only my Veronella studded boots will do.

Bye for now.
